About
Fraîche Studios

Shaquana Sherrill

Raised in Brooklyn, New York, I come from loud summers, corner stores, church dresses, bamboo earrings, music floating through apartment windows, and a block full of people who always had something to say. Brooklyn raised me on rhythm, resilience, creativity, and culture before I even understood what those words meant.

But the woman who truly raised me was my grandmother, Loretta.

Loretta gave me softness in a world that constantly tried to harden people too early. She taught me how to carry myself with pride, how to love loudly, how to make something beautiful out of almost nothing. She believed presentation mattered. Color mattered. Joy mattered. Whether it was matching hair bows, bright dresses, or simply making sure I walked out the house feeling special, she taught me that style was never just about clothes.

Style was identity.
Style was confidence.
Style was survival.
She made me feel seen long before I understood how important that would become later in life.
Brooklyn gave me edge, but Loretta gave me heart.
And that combination became the foundation for everything I am today.

For more than 20 years, I worked in the automotive industry, a world that taught me pressure, performance, sacrifice, and survival. I became the person everybody counted on. The one who stayed late. The one who fixed problems. The one who carried more than she probably should have. And somewhere inside all of that, I slowly stopped pouring into myself.I know what it feels like to lose pieces of yourself while trying to keep everything else together.

That realization changed me.

What started as exhaustion became reflection. Reflection became healing. Healing became boundaries. And boundaries became the first time in my life that I truly chose myself without guilt attached to it.

Fraîche Studios was born from that shift.

Not just as a brand, but as a new way of living.

Fraîche means fresh. And after everything life carried me through, that word became personal. A fresh start. A fresh mindset. A fresh perspective on what it means to protect your peace, love yourself properly, and stop shrinking yourself to make everybody else comfortable.

Every piece I create tells a story.

The colors represent different chapters of my life. Brooklyn. Girlhood. Growth. Softness. Confidence. Joy. Even the boldness comes from the women I grew up around. Women who knew how to make a sidewalk feel like a runway and turn struggle into style.

And the words on the bags mean something too.

“Unbothered” is about freedom. Freedom from needing validation. Freedom from overexplaining yourself. Freedom from carrying the weight of everybody else’s opinions.

“Unavailable” is about boundaries. Unavailable for chaos. Unavailable for burnout. Unavailable for relationships, jobs, or environments that require you to abandon yourself just to belong.

This brand is a reminder that women deserve softness without losing their power.

That healing is not weakness.

That peace is luxury.

That protecting yourself is necessary.

And then there are my dogs. They are not just part of the brand. They are part of me.

The patches you see on some of the bags represent unconditional love, comfort, emotional healing, and companionship through some of the hardest moments of my life. Even while both battling different forms of cancer, they continue to teach me resilience, presence, and love in its purest form.

Including them in Fraîche Studios was never about aesthetics.

It was about honesty.

Because this brand was never meant to tell a polished story. It was meant to tell a real one.

A story about a Brooklyn girl raised by a woman named Loretta who taught her that softness could still survive hard things.

A story about rebuilding yourself.A story about choosing peace.

A story about becoming whole again.

And hopefully, when women carry these pieces, they feel a little of that too.
